Ron "Boo" Kandas has fished Alaska waters for over 42 years and can honestly say he gets excited every day he is able to fish. Few people enjoy fishing as much as Boo, and it shows. A day of fishing with him is a total package. In addition to fishing with one of the area's most skilled freshwater and saltwater guides, you will likely leave with a smile that will last for hours ...possibly days ...maybe weeks.

Boo has been fishing since he was a young boy growing up in Montana. His talents were recognized early as he became a "guide" to family and friends, often riding his bike up to seven miles to fish for pike and perch at Raymond Dam.  When he was eight years old Boo's family was briefly stationed at Elmendorf Airforce Base in Anchorage, Alaska.  In those two years, young Boo had many adventures along the shores of Ship creek to try his luck for trout and salmon. 

His humor and enthusiasm for fishing is addictive and is evident by his many repeat customers. Helping clients to have an enjoyable and productive fishing trip is top priority. Boo truly enjoys the profession, whether it be assisting a first time angler with a huge halibut, or watching a seasoned fisherman land a trophy king salmon.

After becoming an Alaska fishing guide, Boo established Tall Tale Charters during 1988 and has continually provided top rated Kenai Peninsula guided fishing trips to visitors from around the world.
